Megan Majewski, Colorado Criminal Defense Attorney

headshot of Megan Majewski

Colorado criminal defense attorney Megan Majewski focuses her practice on post-conviction relief to help those with prior criminal histories move forward in their life with better housing and employment opportunities and full restoration of their civil and firearm rights.

Megan specializes in Governor’s pardons. Pardons are the highest form of post- conviction relief, restoring all civil and political rights, including second amendment rights.

Megan summarizes her approach to cases:

I believe in practicing what I call “compassionate lawyering” which to me means not only helping people with the legal aspects of their case, but addressing the whole person, so that at the conclusion of their case they can be in a better place in their lives. I do that through communication, understanding and empathy. Along with this focus I strive to be a consummate professional, treating all parties in the system with courtesy and respect, while fiercely advocating for my clients’ rights and freedom.

Megan lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, Phil, her son, Peter George, and their goldendoodle Luigi. Megan spends her free time camping, hiking, going to baseball games and concerts, and gardening.

Notable Cases

  • Megan obtained five Governor’s pardons in the last year out of just 20 for the entire state of Colorado.
  • Megan obtained a Governor’s pardon for a client with a felony drug conviction, restoring all his constitutional rights, including the right to bear arms.
  • Megan won a “not guilty” verdict in a sex offense trial even though prosecutors introduced evidence of the client’s past convictions. The jury deliberated for only two hours before acquitting the client on all charges, allowing him to be released from custody immediately.
  • Megan represented a firefighter accused of DUI. She not only got the D.A. to dismiss the DUI charges (saving his career) but also won the DMV hearing (allowing him to keep his driver’s license and to drive to work).
